For fertility treatment, sperm washing aims to remove poorer quality sperm to leave healthy, motile sperm with less DNA fragmentation. With sperm preparation, the ejaculate is either filtered via a centrifugation column or injected into a “Zymot” device. Some clinics prefer Zymots to reduce DNA fragmentation. This test can be helpful for men who have previously had high levels of DNA fragmentation.
